Trump 2.0: Strategy or Chaos?

Is Donald Trump's foreign policy guided by an underlying strategy?  If so, what is the through line that ties it together?  In this lecture, Peter Trubowitz will explore competing explanations for Trump's foreign policy and their implications for our understanding of grand strategy.

Peter Trubowitz

Peter Trubowitz is Professor of International Relations and Director of the Phelan United States Centre at the London School of Economics and Associate Fellow at Chatham House. He writes and comments frequently on international affairs and American foreign policy. His writings include Geopolitics and Democracy: The Western Liberal Order from Foundation to Fracture (Oxford 2023), Politics and Strategy: Partisan Ambition and American Statecraft (Princeton 2011) and Defining the National Interest: Conflict and Change in US Foreign Policy (Chicago 1998), as well as articles in scholarly journals and popular magazines.
