Alexander Gabuev——Russia's view on the Belt and Road Initiative

Since the Belt and Road weaves its way through the vast mainland of Russia and its  traditional domains of influence, the country is of crucial importance to the Initiative. In such sense, what do Russia governments and academia's see in the BNR initiatives? What are the implications for a joint cooperation between the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Eurasia Economic Union(EEU)? What kind of strategic tools is optimal for China to deliver the best outcome?    （需报名）

Alexander Gabuev

Alexander Gabuev is a senior fellow and the chair of the Russia in the Asia-Pacific Program at the Carnegie Moscow Center. His research is focused on Russia’s policy toward East and Southeast Asia, political and ideological trends in China, and China’s relations with its neighbors—especially those in Central Asia.
